Halloween has never been my favorite holiday, but after having children it has become much more enjoyable. Today we had a Halloween themed lunch and the kids, well mostly my daughter, loved it!
We had mummies (hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls), witches broomsticks (half of a string cheese stick on a thin straw), ghost cups with yogurt, banana ghost, pumpkin bags (cheese puffs in a sandwich bag with a face drawn on), mandarin oranges pumpkin cups, and a mummy juice box (a juice box wrapped in white tape with googly eyes).
After lunch we decorated our pumpkins; three ways other than our normal clean-out-the-pumpkin-insides-and-carve-a-face, way. I think they turned out super cute. The first one we did was the mummy. We wrapped our pumpkin with a roll of gauze and added Mr.Potato Head eyes, easy peasy! The next one was my daughters favorite. She added different sized screws and hooks to make a face for her pumpkin, and then added wooden dowels, not sure what those were meant to be, but she was very proud of her creation just the same! The last one was also super simple as all we did was pick out the Mr.Potato Head face pieces we wanted and add them to our pumpkin.
