For many kids, school will be getting out soon and that may mean you will hear a lot of, “I’m bored!”and that is never fun! To help combat this problem, I have created a list of fun, easy, and cheap (or free!) activities and ideas for your children to do whenever the boredom sets in…because you know it will!
Some of these “Boredom Busters” can be done outside while others are great rainy day, inside ideas. Either way, rain or shine, there will be plenty of activities to keep your kiddos busy this summer, or anytime of the year when the kids are home and in need of something to do.
I have made a free printable with all of these ideas on one page so you can print it out and keep it where your kids can look at it and pick an activity whenever they start to get bored.
If surprises are more your kids thing, then keep the list where only you can read it and have them pick a number from 1-32 (if you want them to do an outside activity) or from 33-61 (if they need to do something inside). Then have your child do the activity based on the number that they picked; easy peasy! Of course you could always write the activities on slips of paper or popsicle sticks and have your kids draw a paper or stick to see what activity they get to do.
However you decide to use these “Boredom Busters” I hope that the activities keep your children busy and happy for a long time so that you don’t spend your entire day listening to “I’m bored!” And if you still need more ideas on how to keep your kids entertained, then check out my other posts on fun and free games to play (like pictionary and charades), fitness fun and brain break activities!
With all of these ideas, your children are bound to find something fun to do! What other cool “Boredom Buster” activities do your kids enjoy?
